February 27, 2014: This day was filled with driving; ten hours of driving towards the Namib Desert. The photos illustrate the variation in road quality and landscape as we drove.
We stopped for side-of-the-road bathroom breaks, to make and eat our lunch on the grounds of a roadside farm, and to marvel at the tree nests of the sociable weaver.
Also, monkey gland sauce chips.
Michael found the chips somewhere along the way and obviously had to try them. Get the sauce here:
- Tents! But, if camping isn’t your style, check out other accommodation options in the Sesriem area of Namibia.
TIP: We use World Nomads for travel insurance when we travel internationally. We believe they offer the best coverage for the money and they are super easy to work with! You can get a quote using the widget on our Resources page.
